Qatar Electricity and Water Company organised a Blood Donor Day drive in Ras Abu Fontas Power and Desalination Plant recently.
The aim of the Blood Donor Day campaign is to raise awareness amongst the community on the importance of blood donation and how a drop of blood donated can be significant in saving a life.
This year’s initiative received a keen response from employees with more than 100 employees showing up to donate blood.
“It is part of our social responsibility to serve the needs of community,” said QEWC General Manager and Managing Director Fahad al Mohannadi said about the campaign.”By participating in the Blood Donor Day campaign, we get an opportunity to contribute to society by helping save the lives of people suffering blood loss due to surgery or accidents.”
QEWC is committed to supporting social causes. The company is an active supporter of community initiatives and has organised similar blood donation initiatives over the past several years.
“We believe that organising blood donation campaigns on a regular basis is very important,” said Campaign Leader Ibrahim al Sheeb.
Fahad al Mohannadi applauded the management skills of the staff for organising the blood donation campaign in a well-planned manner. He also lauded the motivation of employees for their contributions in making the campaign a success.
