QEWC celebrated Qatar’s National Sports Day by organizing a wide range of sports and recreational activities on Tuesday, February 12th, 2014. The joint initiative by QEWC, Mesaieed Power Company (M Power), Qatar Power (Q Power), Ras Laffan Power Company (RLPC) and Ras Girtas Power Company (RGPC) gathered 600 employees and their families enjoying sports competitions, fitness exercises and games at the Ras Abu Fontas.
Qatar National Sports Day encouraged healthy lifestyle, strengthening social links between employees and their families. It also gave them the opportunity to involve in different sports and enjoy a fulfilling day away from their routine work environment. The sports activities ranged from volleyball, basketball, cricket and marathon.
The children were gathered to the kid’s zone for their own range of recreational activities such as bungee run, target shot, inflatable gazebo’s and some other activities made their day unforgettable.
QEWC’s general manager Mr. Fahad Al Mohannadi participated in the celebration of National Sport Day by encouraging all the participants and commenting on the positive health benefits of engaging in sporting and fitness activities.
QEWC was proud to be actively involved in the National Sports Day and to contribute towards sustainable development through sports, aligning with Qatar’s National Vision 2030 and raising awareness amongst employees on the importance of sports for a healthier life.
At the end of the occasion, Mr. Fahad Al Mohannadi applauded the management skills of stuff for organizing the National Sport Day in a well-planned manner. He also lauded the enthusiasm of employees and their families for their highly enthusiastic contribution in the celebration and making it a successful.
