Eng. Mohammad Nasser Al-Hajri was appointed as a board member and general manager Qatar Electricity and Water Company

Based on the decision of the Board of Directors of the Qatar Electricity and Water Co, Eng. Mohammad Nasser Al-Hajri was appointed as a member of the Board of Directors and General Director of the Qatar Electricity and Water Co, as of January 1, 2021.

On this occasion, His Excellency Eng. Saad bin Sherida Al Kaabi, the Minister of State for Energy Affairs, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Qatar Electricity and Water Company, welcomed Eng. Mohammed Nasser Al-Hajri, wishing him success in performing his duties.

It should be noted that Eng. Mohammad Al-Hajri holds a master’s degree in gas engineering from the University of Salford in the United Kingdom, and a bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering from Qatar University, where he joined Qatar Petroleum in 1991.

Engineer Mohammad Nasser Al-Hajri has more than 28 years of long experience with energy, oil and gas field and has held many positions, including Executive Vice President for Petrochemical and Industrial Projects Development in Qatar Petroleum, Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors of Qatar Industries and Managing Director of Qatar Steel and has participated in the development of a number of Electricity and water projects and chaired the board of directors of Ras Girtas Power Co.

The Qatar Electricity and Water Company is a Qatari public shareholding company established in 1990 in accordance with the provisions of the Qatar Commercial Companies Law for the purpose of owning and managing power generation and water desalination plants and selling its products. It is one of the first private sector companies in the region that operate in the field of electricity production and water desalination.
